Import? b) Ideas Spread Ideas move with people and goods Ex) Indian missionaries and merchants spread Buddhism to China and Southeast Asia TV and modern communication spread ideas fast c) Interdependence Interdependence- dependence of countries on goods, resources, and knowledge from other parts of the world, increased by rapid movement Ex) US imports coffee from S. America, tea from India, oil from Middle East, exports products too VII) Region Region- an area with its own unifying characteristics Can be defined by physical (Rocky Mountain area), cultural (Muslim world), political, or economic regions Ex) Pakistan: physical-South Asia, cultural- Muslim world, ec.- developing world (Third World) Location, history, resources, and people of a region give it a unique identity Q- To which regions does Marblehead belong?
