Zayden S. Age 9 Missouri

My problem was that my dog, Gracie, wouldn’t eat her pill even though it was inside a dog treat. She wouldn’t eat anything different than her daily dog treat. She is suspicious of anything strange! So, my mom had to hold my dog’s mouth open. Then she would put the pill in my dog’s mouth. I bet Gracie didn’t like that and my mom could have been bitten!

1. Putting several dog treats around the pill. Problem: Dog might choke. 2. Making a device that holds my dog’s mouth open. Problem: Dog would not like it. 3. Pill inside a dog treat and peanut butter as a little extra treat.

 Pill pockets exist, but Gracie won’t eat anything different than her normal dog treat. product/index.jsp?productI d=

 My idea is to put a hole in the dog treat and put the pill in it. Then, cover the hole with peanut butter to keep it in place. Since this is her regular daily dog treat, she won’t have any idea that the pill is hidden inside.

 Problems Discovered Hole wasn’t deep enough for a pill. The cover was too thick.  Solution Make dog treat thicker so that the hole can be deeper. Make the cover very thin to leave room for the pill.
