Background The author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is Sean Covey. Sean Covey’s father, Stephen R. Covey, wrote The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Sean Covey’s purpose This book offers a set of tools to deal with REAL LIFE.

We first make our habits, then our habits make us. INTRAPERSONAL HABITS Habit 1: Be Proactive Take responsibility for your life. Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind. Have a plan. Habit 3: Put first things first. Prioritize your time. Do the most important things first.

We first make our habits, then our habits make us. INTERPERSONAL HABITS Habit 4: Think Win-Win Work for solutions so both can be happy. Habit 5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Listen first, talk second. Habit 6: Synergize Work together to achieve more.

Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw Have a plan to take care of your most important asset: YOURSELF BODY MIND HEART SOUL

Self mastery/The private victory Self mastery: I am in charge of myself. I act on principles and values. I achieve a private victory. Habits 1, 2, 3

The Public Victory Habits 4, 5, and 6 deal with relationships and teamwork. Success in relationships is a public victory and has to do with interpersonal intelligence.

The habits build on each other Habits 1, 2, and 3 are the foundation—the private victory (self mastery). You need to get your act together in order to be a better team player (Habits 4, 5, and 6).

Habits Habits are things we do repeatedly. Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us.

Habits are cobwebs at first, and then they become cables!
