It Goes With the Job! Philippians 1: /27/2005 PM Dr. Dane Boyles
It Goes With the Job! Many times the troubles and difficulty ‘we experience’ are a part of God’s plan for our lives and ministry. –Paul tells us that it was in God’s plan. 12 Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. (Phil 1:12)
It Goes With the Job! –Our first response would be, “We’ve got to do something! We’ve got to get him out!” –Paul’s ministry was filled with conflict and trouble. 12 My being in prison is working to the further of the gospel. (Phil 1:12)
It Goes With the Job! 21 After all this had happened, Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. “After I have been there,” he said,” “I must visit Rome also.” (Acts 19:21)
It Goes With the Job! 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome. (Rom 1:15) 12 The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. 13 More than forty men were involved in this plot. (Acts 23:12-13)
It Goes With the Job! –If we are true to the Word of God... trouble will come! –It is all part of the ‘Job’ 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12)
It Goes With the Job! When God called us to preach... persecution and opposition just goes with the job! –The Gospel went around the world in adversity. –Why should we think we should be able to minister in ease?
It Goes With the Job! Paul’s Concern Was Not Over Persecution 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed. –Of not preaching the gospel.... of not preaching in boldness and magnifying Jesus Christ our Lord.
It Goes With the Job! 28 Without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, –Circumstances do not cause one to be spiritual or unspiritual. Remember, it is all part of the ‘Job’ that God has called us to do.
