How to Search for Articles …using the Piedmont web site

Access the web site:

Select articles and more

Select ‘Education’

Choose to search either ‘Academic Search Complete’ or ‘ProQuest’

With either choice you will be asked to enter your EZ Proxy information…your complete Lions address, and your Student ID number

Example No. 1: Academic Search Complete

Enter a topic into the field as indicated…using the AND logic operator to simplify the search string…

Be sure to check ‘Full Text’ in order to retrieve the article for reading…and you may further narrow the search by indicating the publication range (within 5-8 years of the current date), the Publication Type (periodical), the Document Type (article) and the language of publication….

Click ‘Search’…

If ‘No results were found’ you may refine the search, or change the search string…

Example No. 2: Research Library (ProQuest)

Likewise, you should select ‘Full text’ and specify a date range within 5-8 years of the current date…

Click ‘Search’ to continue…

In this example the search terms were changed to ‘Technology AND Word Processing’ and several articles were identified…

By clicking on the icon marked as ‘Full Text’ or ‘Full text – PDF’ a specific article is presented…

At this point the article may be printed (one copy for your reference only, not multiple copies) or sent by to an address…
