ITALY It is an ancient land, rich in History and culture, that’s why is known as “Bel Paese”, Italy is a peninsula which is called “the boot“ because of its shape.

The highest mountain in Italy is called “ Monte Bianco”, it stands 4810 metres above sea level. It is the highest mountain in Europe.

Italy is also famous for its numerous volcanoes, most notably Mt. Etna, (3,343 m), in Sicily, near Taormina, the highest volcano in Europe.

Let’s have a look at some Italian cities… FIRENZE It is known as the Renaissance City. VENEZIA It is a city in a portion of sea called “Laguna” of Venezia.

PALERMO It is located in the centre of the Mediterranean and it is one of the most ancient and artistic cities in the world, as it used to be dominated and influenced by a lot of civilizations. It is also the capital city of Sicily.

ENNA Let’s give a special look at our town. It is the highest town in Italy, 931 m. above the sea level. Its inhabitants are about 28,000.

The province of Enna is situated in the high part of the Erei and Nebrodi mountains and the landscape is characterised by a varied and irregular morphology. From the point of view of altitude the district varies from a minimum of 232 m. above sea level to a maximum of 990 m. above sea level and it is the chief town of Italy’s highest province. Enna is a province with many lakes. Of particular note is Lake Pergusa which belongs to the district of Enna, and where there are two separate buildings belonging to this school.

OUR SCHOOL “F.P. NEGLIA” It is situated in lower Enna. Our school’s name is F.P. NEGLIA”. He was a famous local musician. We have 642 students aged from 3 to 11. We have 10 classes pre-primary and 22 classes primary school. We learn: Italian, Maths, Science, English, History, Music, Geography, Technology, Art, Religion, Physical Education.
