Mutual Respect – earned and expected Personal and civic responsibility Communication with parents – open door policy My best efforts – everyday Connect with each student Model and participate to learn Acknowledge different learning styles

The goal for my classroom is to provide an atmosphere that is engaging for the students and supports multiple levels of learning. It is wise to “identify and evaluate existing classroom structures” before implementing any new classroom plan (Sayeski & Brown, Nov 2014, Vol 47 Issue 2, p. 119). By first observing the students’ strengths and weaknesses, I can better provide the tools they will need to be successful.

Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School Astronaut High Differences/Similarities identified between schools. Overall Assessment Summative Formative Overall Assessment can be determined by using Formative and Summative Types Used throughout the learning process Should be used alongside other methods Building blocks for education Avoid negative consequences by using assessments appropriately Support learning by using both types in conjunction

Professional learning communities are designed for teachers to collaborate with their peers to increase their knowledge and skills. “There are five specific characteristics of a professional learning community, which include shared beliefs, values and vision; share and supportive leadership; collective learning and its application; supportive conditions; and shared personal practice,” (Newman, 2013, p. 13.3). Continual learning in these communities will help us as educators to support one another and continue to grow in our profession.
