Our Mission The mission of “The Big Event” is to serve every Northwest High School resident, regardless of need, and to say “Thank You!” for their support of the Texans. WE WANT TO GIVE BACK!!!

So…What is the Big Event? Students and faculty serving alongside members of the community through a day of service projects to make a difference in the community and in the lives of people

The Date APRIL 6 TH, 2013 (yes, a Saturday. but…)

OR if you know of someone—you can add their name and we will contact them

Why do we do this? To see teachers, counselors, and principals sweat To meet new people To work hard with our friends and make some really cool memories To say THANKS to and improve our community To be in people’s lives for just a few hours on a Saturday and allow them to feel the weight of our good. To DO SOMETHING

Finishing a Job Some jobs last longer than others—all jobs last 2-4 hours When you finish your part of a work project, look for people who may need help finishing theirs When your group is done, you will be picked up and taken to a zone command center… …and when there are enough finished groups at the command center, we will begin returning to NHS to EAT!!!

REALLY Finishing the Job When you finish your job—REMEMBER—this is a chance to meet someone in the community and show them what we’re all about!!! Some people just want someone to take time out for them—so spend time talking to someone who may never get the chance to talk to a high schooler anymore. People need us!!!

Two ways to sign up Individuals can sign up, and will be grouped into teams of students with a REALLY cool adult sponsor, OR Teams can sign up, either with an adult sponsor in mind, or can be assigned one from the many wonderful adults who are volunteering their time. IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW YOU SIGN UP, AS LONG AS YOU SIGN UP!!!

How to Participate Sign up as with a team or as an individual Fill out the t-shirt order form/permission slip.
