New Task Properties UI Change most tabs to Property/Value grids Provide option to dock Task Properties on the side (vertical layout) or on the bottom (horizontal layout) – need to determine how the grids respond to window resizing Add ability to customise visible tabs in the Properties (and possibly Navigator windows) Retain right click Context Menu functionality, plus add some buttons where appropriate

Customise Task Properties New dialog similar to Customise Columns This is available in P6 Details panel Users can add/remove/reorder tabs in Task Properties Makes it easier for users to find the tabs they use most Which tabs (possibly all) are included by default to be discussed. Possibly hide rarely used tabs by default? Consider adding this functionality to all Properties windows (Task, Resource, 3D, 3D Path Editor) and Navigator

Task Properties>General Moved many properties elsewhere, leaving this one rather empty Grouped properties by category for more clarity Added Supply Chain to General, which enables us to eliminate the Supply Chain tab entirely Further design needed for how the Supply Chain>Customers UI works

Task Properties>Monitoring Consolidates properties from multiple tabs to reduce clicking back and forth Could also be displayed in vertical orientation with all panels in one column New (current location in parentheses): Baseline Start (Statistics), Baseline Finish (Statistics), Baseline Duration (none), Planned Start (General*), Planned Finish (General*) & Planned Duration (General*), Constraints (General), Float (General) *These are found in the General tab until the task is Statused, then they can only be seen in Task List columns Removed(proposed new location): Physical Volume (Task Properties>Physical Quantities), Actual Expense Report (Task Properties>Expenses), Progress Reports (none)

Task Properties>Links Horizontal layout to enable docking at bottom of screen is essential to schedulers – Predecessors and Successor panels side by side; Predecessors and Successor panels top to bottom in traditional vertical layout (new feature) Ability to customise columns Customise in each panel separately Right click in column headers to access CM>Customise Columns – opens Customise Columns dialog with all available Task Property columns (as in Gantt Chart), Activity Codes, User Fields, plus Link columns (Type, Lag, Link Calendar, Driving) (new feature) Ability to sort by any column via right click CM – when sorted an arrow in the column header indicates column and direction of sort (apply this indicator across all tables in Synchro – Gantt, Resources, etc)

Task Properties>Resources Two options for this tab – still need to decide. Table is more like P6, but optimal only for horizontal layout: good for resource (units) loading List + Grid is better for vertical layout: good for 3D resource planning Table Can customise columns for the work being done. Save columns with Layout. Eg. One layout for human resource loading & another layout for 3D resource planning Not all columns will fit at once – would need to scroll to see all properties for selected resource Can see visible columns for all resources simultaneously

Task Properties>Resources

List + Grid Shows all properties without scrolling (no customisation/hiding) Can see data for selected resource only; one at a time Better than Table for vertical layout (4D Planning, not scheduling) Can work in vertical and horizontal mode Change %/Day to Units/Day? Or Units/Time?

Task Properties>Codes Can change Code value via drop-down (proposed new functionality)

Task Properties>Expenses Currently split into Budgeted Costs (Budgeted direct task expenses only) Monitoring (Actual Expenses) Cost Totals (list all expenses and resource costs, plus sum totals) Budgeted Expenses– possible improvements: Auto Compute Actuals Fixed Cost options: Front load, Back load, Evenly distributed Actual Expenses enter expense date and comments (to replace Actual Expenses report in Monitoring) Missing compared to P6: Remaining & Completion Cost

Task Properties>Cost Totals Currently budgeted costs and actual costs are listed in the same box which is confusing Split into Budgeted Costs Summary and Actual Costs Summary – list all direct, resource, and risk costs by line item (read only) P6 doesn’t have a place to list costs from all sources together Cost Totals show budgeted side by side with Actual total for each type (currently listed separately) Would be great to print this as a report task by task

Task Properties>User Fields View, Edit, Add, Remove, Remove All Right click CM to add new UF, or left click in next blank row to access drop-down with list of all task UF in project Edit values right in the table Multi-select to remove multiple

Task Properties>Physical Quantities These properties are currently spread out between General, Resources, and Monitoring Possible named only “Quantities”? The Resources table partially duplicates the Task Prop>Resources list, but would allow users to see all Rule related data in the same tab. Can view and override the assigned Resource Rule (need to figure out how to indicate default vs override) Check mark to indicate driving Should you be able to customise columns? This might be useful, but could become too redundant with Task Prop>Resources

Task Properties>Risk General properties apply to the whole task Assign Risks list all assigned risks and allows their properties to be edited Costs can be viewed/added/edited for the selected Risk in Assigned Risks panel

Task Properties>EVA Formerly “Statistics” Moved all scheduling data to more relevant tabs All data is read-only Section headers TBD

Task Properties>Notes List of all notes in one panel
