Today you will need: YELLOW Your YELLOW reading log. Your planner open to today’s date. Your binder ready to receive papers. Your READING comp book. A writing utensil ready to use. Phone off and put away.

Identify at least TWO comp. book entries that you will share during your student led conference. On a sticky, write why the entry is evidence of learning. What skill did you learn or what did you learn about yourself s a reader? CLEAN UP comp. book!!! Tape in papers (rubrics, book writes, make- up work) so that nothing falls out. Add these important dates to your planner: Tuesday, June 14: Language Quiz. – Homework: Finish draft of letter Thursday, June 16: Rough draft of letter due – Homework: Get letter edited when done typing. Friday, June 17: Rome Test Tuesday, June 21: Edits to letter due. Type final draft. Wednesday, June 22: FINAL LETTER DUE WITH ALL DRAFTS. Put your planner away and get ready to receive papers to put in your binder.

Open up your comp. book to the next available page. Write out today’s date on the first line on the left side. Title it: Last Reading Reflection. Add it to your TOC.

Reflect on the progress you’ve made as a reader in 6 th grade. To do this, look at your goals, your previous reflections, your books writes, and other reading lessons/entries. (5+ sentences.) Now write a reading goal for this summer. What will you need to do to achieve this goal? How will it prepare you for 7 th grade reading? (3+ sentences.) When you are finished, score yourself on the book write rubric(s) and read quietly.
