Responsibilities of the team 1/2 Before the visit study the Manual participate in training and team's meetings examine the HEI’s self-evaluation and other material decide on how to carry out the visit and which groups/individuals to interview determine any additional material that may need to be requested from the institution draw up interview questions for the visit agree on the responsibilities with regard to drawing up the report and start the writing process.

Responsibilities of the team 2/2 During and after the visit conduct the visit as planned draw up the report agree with group on the conclusions and outcomes provide feedback on the evaluation model.

Roles of the team members In the evaluation team, the members are equal and active and can divide tasks according to competence and expertise: management and administration pedagogy research / R & D, artistic activities QA system working life student perspective optional audit target

The role of the Chair –chairing team’s meetings and visits, unless otherwise agreed –participating with the project manager in the briefing and discussion event arranged at the HEI prior to the visit –taking overall responsibility for the task and editing the audit report jointly with the project manager –presenting the results at the decision meeting and at the concluding seminar at the HEI –participating in the communication of the results. Usually, the team appoints one member as the deputy chair.

The role of the project manager organising the training event and acting as an instructor supporting the team’s activities by taking part in the team’s discussions as an expert in the process preparing the audit team’s meetings and acting as secretary at the meetings being the point of contact between the HEI and the team organising the visit in cooperation with the institution taking notes of the interviews during the visits editing the report taking charge of printing the report and communication is in charge of the additional steps and information dissemination related to the project.

Operating principles (1/2) Contractual basis: agreements with the HEI and the members of the team Confidentiality: All of the information acquired during the process, except for that published in the final report, is confidential. During the audit process: no comments! Communication between HEI and team through project manager HEI and agency have the copyright to the audit material Impartiality and objectivity: Auditors must take an impartial and objective approach towards the HEI subject to the evaluation, as well as recognize their position of power and the responsibility relating to it. Avoiding conflicts of interest with those instances who may wish to influence audit results

Operating principles (2/2) Transparent and evidence-based evaluation: The evaluation must be based on transparent and systematically applied criteria, as well as on material collected in connection with the process. Minimising mistakes – immediate correction of misunderstandings Avoiding unnecessary labelling and excessive speculation Identifying manipulation Interaction: The process is carried out through good cooperation and interaction with the HEI. Treating people with dignity, respect and empathy.
