6 What to expect in Lima? A COP decision capturing the progress made in 2014, containing guidance on information to be provided with the INDC and on intensifying the negotiations in 2015 A draft text on the 2015 agreement for negotiations in 2015 Visibility of on-going international cooperation on climate action on the ground
7 How may this impact the CDM and the future carbon market? Post non-paper: the section on cooperation and support for implementation and the section on mitigation: Reflects the views of Parties that cooperative action through market-based and non-market-based mechanisms is expected to be needed CDM and the new market-based mechanism are mentioned as one of the options for means of implementation to facilitate the achievement of the post-2020 ambitions through cooperation between Parties The functions discussed for the framework for various approaches are reflected as functions to be delivered by the new agreement Pre draft decision: CDM-EB invited to report whether and how CDM is supporting the delivery of enhanced pre-2020 climate action
8 The road to Paris The ADP is expected to deliver on its core mandate in 2015 – a legal agreement on the post climate regime; COP decisions to give effect to the agreement INDCs to be communicated well in advance of Paris will indicate the collective demand post-2020 Collective action on pre-2020 ambition to be scaled- up Four sessions in 2015 planned: February – Geneva June – Bonn Second half of 2015 – time and venue TBD November/December – Paris
