Course Description The course provides opportunities for growth in technology and educational terminology exploration of technology and curriculum integration ideas development of hands-on technology skills reflection on issues surrounding the use of technology in the classroom and on one’s perspectives regarding technology in education

Course Assignments The course will ask students to complete a variety of weekly assignments. These assignments will provide experience with utilizing technology to increase productivity and quality. These assignments will also provide experience with combining digital technology pieces together with subject-related areas of the curriculum to enhance learning

Course Description Activities will include Use of various hardware devices such as digital cameras, interactive whiteboards, student response systems, projection systems and computers Use of various computer software for producing word processor documents, spreadsheets, publisher documents, digital media presentations, and audio/ video recording Use of Web “cloud” applications for research, social bookmarking, website construction, wiki collaboration, and multi-media storage and distribution to improve instruction as well as software such as word processor, spreadsheet, database management, and multimedia presentation application packages.

Course Experiences The student will have an opportunity to experience technology integration via assignments and lab time. Some examples are: -Digital photo editing -Wiki Collaboration -Social Bookmarking -Spreadsheet Gradebook -Classroom Website -Audio Podcasting -Digital Media Presentation -Classroom Newsletter -WebQuest -Screencast Video -Technology Integrated Lesson Plan

Course Benefits In addition to the digital and web technology knowledge and skills that a student will learn in this course, the resources that are introduced in this course will be very helpful in future educational degree course work and with developing one’s own technology integrated classroom.

Course Grade Your course grade will involve completion of 3 Examinations 8 Chapter Quizzes 16 Chapter Assignments (minimum 1 per week) 1 Emerging Technology Trends Presentation 1 Final Project Portfolio Grades will be based on the following: A = % B = % C = % D = % E = Below 60%
