Skeletal System By Sanwal and Amir

Main functions of skeletal system The main functions of the Skeletal System are Protection,Movement and support Protection--Protects the cranium which is the skull and also the vital organs in the chest. Movement--The skeletal system lets you move when the muscles contract and you move. Support--Holds your vital organs in place when doing sports and moving.

Main organs of skeletal system The main organs of the skeletal system are Bone,Tendons,Ligaments,Cartilage. Bones--Supports and protects the main organs and also produce red and white blood cells. Tendons--Connects bone to muscle. Ligaments--Connects bones to bone so it is flexible. Cartilage--Is a flexible connective tissue and it's main function is connecting bone to bone

Type of joints Hinge,Pivot,Ball and socket,Saddle and Hip The function of the joints is where 2 bones meet they provide flexibility and without them movement wouldn't be possible.Together with bones and muscles joints work together to move.

Tendons and Ligaments Tendons--Connects bones to muscle made up of fibers and cells of various shape. Ligament--Connects bones to bone help control movement of body.

Intersting facts about the skeletal system 1.Babies have more bones than adults. 2.Hands and feet contain half the bones. 3.The bone in your smallest toes breaks the most and is easiest to break.
