City Clean Up Event Hosted by Looking Good Santa Barbara

Who We Are Looking Good Santa Barbara is a City program joining residents, city staff and representatives from throughout the community with the mission to reduce waste (reduce, reuse, recycle and compost) and contribute to a clean community through graffiti and litter abatement. Over the last 25 years, the program has helped create the clean and green Santa Barbara we enjoy today.

Who can participate?...Anyone! ●Individuals, groups, families ●Businesses, organizations ●Age-friendly activities available! ●Community service hours available for high school students

What is the Clean Up Event? On Saturday, July 26 th, Looking Good SB will hold its 11 th Annual City Clean- Up event.

What is the Clean Up Event? Neighbors, businesses, youth and community organizations will partner with the City to transform our local neighborhoods by removing graffiti, picking-up litter, clearing trash from creeks and a variety of other projects.

Where will it be held? Two reporting locations (with projects at each): Free lunch and family festivities to be hosted at Ortega Park (East Side location) after the event (12pm onwards)

When is it happening? Saturday, July 26 th ●7:30AM-9AM (Optional): o Free Pancake Breakfast at Westside Location ●9AM-12PM: Clean Up Event at Eastside & Westside Locations ●12PM-onwards (Optional): o Free lunch and family festivities in Ortega Park (Eastside location)  Festival- educational booths, games, and more!  Access to the Ortega Park swimming pool (don’t forget your swimsuit!)

Why participate? Make a difference! 4050 volunteers since 2003 Total of 12,250 hours of volunteer time donated Volunteer time valued at $303, tons of trash/recycling gathered 347 trees planted

Why participate? And... ●High school students- community service hours available! ●Businesses who participate will be recognized in an Independent ad after the event ●Free stuff! o Free t-shirts to the first 500 volunteers o Gift cards for the first 200 people to register online (see website for more info) o Free lunch and festivities after the event!

How to participate? Individuals and groups: ●Register online on the Looking Good SB website to receive updates and event information ●Tell your friends! (Facebook event “City of Santa Barbara Community Clean Up Day”) ●Show up! Businesses: ●Sign the event Business Pledge committing to: o Clean up your storefront (e.g. clean windows, paint exterior, etc.) during the event (9AM- 12PM) o Send a group of employees to volunteer at the event o Provide coupons/discounts to event volunteers o Donate a raffle prize o Other? Be creative! o Or all of the above!
