Simulating Music Think of how much fun it is to be able to make your guitar sound like a banjo, or a ukulele, or a bass. -> Banjo 4 string: use folded paper 5 string: use rubber coated piece of wire Put a capo up higher on the guitar neck. -> Clarinet Pick 12 frets higher than the fingered notes for to approximate the clarinets’ “wooden” sound quality.

Arabic Music If you have a floating whammy bar Right after you pick each note, quickly and briskly push the whammy bridge block down with the side of your hand, and immediately release the pressure again. This will quickly push each note a bit sharp very quickly and briefly. The pressure on your whammy bar bridge gives you the notes in between the half steps. If you don’t have a floating whammy bar You need to create the effect with your fretting hand. Follow each note that you pick by a really small, fast and short bend and release. It is essential that make your bends very small. You want to bend to the notes in between the half steps. In other words: the notes that don’t have frets. Applying this technique: you turn your guitar into an instrument that has more than 12 frets.

Proper Thumb Position Guitar teachers are usually adamant about keeping your thumb behind the guitar-neck. To teach you “proper” guitar technique. Even if grabbing over with your thumb is not an issue as long as it does not create tension in your wrist or arm, you still benefit from getting used to holding your thumb behind the guitar neck as well. To avoid tension in your wrists, hands and fingers, which can cause physical hand and arm problems, including tendinitis and in later stages possibly carpel tunnel syndrome. To accommodate the style you want to learn or practice. When learning classical guitar, or work on shred picking technique; thumb is always behind the guitar neck.learning classical guitar
