Further Education Colleges 6 th form- A levels, often tends to prepare for university Vocational qualifications- work related qualifications Apprenticeship University Undergraduate degrees (take 3 years to complete) A master’s degree takes a year of studying Some specialised degree, e.g PGCE (takes 4 years)

Uniform Students must wear uniform, those that don’t cannot attend. It is compulsory. Winter Summer

At Primary school and Secondary school At PRIMARY SCHOOL level students are in forms until YEAR 3 with ONE TEACHER teaching all subjects through text books and interactive games. YEAR FOUR, YEAR FIVE AND YEAR SIX Students in private school are split into A and B bands. They also have different teachers for various subjects. This is also true for secondary school from YEAR SEVEN TO YEAR ELEVEN where students are in different bands, with form tutors and different teachers for subjects.

Homework

A levels and AS levels Advanced Level General Certificate of Education Students choose new subjects of study or from their best results from GCSE’s. They can choose 5 or 4 subjects. Students study these subjects in termly modules for one year, then choose to drop one subject if they wish, concentrating on either 4 or 3 core subjects. A levels are gained commonly through several modular exams and coursework (ART, MEDIA STUDIES). A levels are graded between A-U. If failed they can be re-sat.

Undergraduates and Post Graduates at University Students go to University for 3 years to get a Bachelors of Education (B ED)- they are UNDERGRADUATES. Students who study other courses but decide they want to become a teacher can take a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)- they are POST GRADUATES.
