2016/6/246 Introduction(4/5) BBB Score  It is probably the most commonly used test of locomotor function in spinal cord injured rats worldwide (Basso et al., 1995).  The BBB is a semiquantitative scale based on locomotor response of rats that can take on values ranging from zero to 21.

2016/6/247 Introduction(5/5) BBB Score  It is a modified open-field test, based on grading hindlimb locomotion from 0 to 21. Scores from 0 to 7 (the hip, the knee and the ankle joints). Scores from 8 to 13 (the paw placement and coordinated movements with the forelimbs). Scores from 14 to 21 (toe clearance during stepping, predominant paw position, trunk stability and tail position).
