Logical Connectors are used to link sentences in a passage so that ideas follow a logical order, giving clarity to the paragraph. Below are some commonly used logical connectors. Consequently In addition Therefore As a result HoweverThus SimilarlyBesides Furthermore

Used to show result i) Consequently - e.g. The security guard was hurt while on duty. Consequently, he was hospitalised. ii) As a result - The show was cancelled. e.g. As a result, the promoter lost a lot of money. iii) Thus - His boss is happy with his work. Thus, he received a raise.

Used to show the reason Therefore - Cholera was reported in that town. Therefore, all drinking water had to be boiled.

Used to show comparison Similarly - The boys cleared the drains outside their classroom. Similarly, the girls cleared the drains outside theirs.
