Capitalization Jack Langan

Always capitalize the first letter in the first word of a sentence.  He went to the store. Always capitalize the first letter in all words of a proper noun, unless the words are: of, the, and, or, with, for, in, on, etc. Do capitalize those listed words if they are the first word in the title.  The man waved to Bobby.  He is President Jackson’s son.  I go to North Gwinnett.  Of Mice and Men is a great book. Don’t capitalize if the word is not being used as a title.  Jackson was a president. Capitalize north, south, east, and west when talking about the actual region, not the direction (will usually have “the” before it).  He lives in the South.  He lives south of here. Capitalize northern, southern, etc. when referring to the people, not the general direction.  They are Northerners.  They’re in the northern states. School subjects, unless a language or very specific subject, aren’t capitalized  I love language arts.  I take Spanish.  I enjoy The Study of the Human Brain.
