Author Study ~ Homework The assignment is to choose and READ 2 chapter books or 5 picture books by the same author without duplicating the author of another classmate. You can already have read one of the books. Do NOT pick cartoon books (ie. Scooby Doo & Pokemon) because they have different authors and you will not be able to find information on them.

Next week you will have an Oral Report: –Say the name of your author. –What type of books your author writes. –What books you read. –What book would you recommend & why. If you do NOT read your books, you will have a written report due to me the following week.

Author PowerPoint ~ In library Step 1: Research the author You will need the following information:  a picture of the author  biographical information (Name, Date of Birth, Hometown, Family)  a list of books that the author wrote You can highlight it, copy it and paste it onto your document.

Step 2: Create your PowerPoint Slide 1 should include the picture of the author and biographical information. Slide 2 should include a list of some of the books that the author wrote. Slide 3 should include a brief description of your favorite title by that author and why you like that particular title or author.

Louis Sachar Slide 1 should include the picture of the author and biographical information. Louis Sachar was born in East Meadow, New York on March 20, 1954 and lived there until third grade.

Louis Sachar Slide 2 should include a list of some of the books that the author wrote. Some of the books he wrote are Sideways Stories from Wayside School, There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom, The Marvin Redpost Series, and his latest book Small Steps.

Louis Sachar Slide 3 should include a brief description of your favorite title by that author and why you like that particular title or author. My favorite book by Louis Sachar is Holes. It is about a boy who is sent to Camp Green Lake. He learns many valuable lessons there. I like it because Louis Sachar has a great sense of humor.
