Teaching Now a little about wikis: To set up a wiki, go to Sign up.

Guided Practice Create the space The “protected” choice will only allow invited/ approved members to edit the page. It is the safest option when using in the classroom. Don’t forget to record your new wiki address!

Work Time

Getting Started You will edit the page during work time today and throughout the rest of the sessions.

Work Time Visit the sample wiki created by the facilitator. Add to the whole-group wiki. (Please don’t answer the questions designated for Sessions 6-8 yet.) Create your own wiki.

Take a look at the sample wiki-use contract. Discuss strategies to manage the wiki.

Look at a few wikis people set up. Share a few discussion questions participants added to their class pages. Look at the whole-group wiki. How did it change? (Look at the history.) During Sessions 6-8, you will be adding to both the discussion board and the wiki during work time. Share
