Advanced Drawing & Painting Pleasant Valley High School Mr. Boudman

  Objective: Draw a chair that is obscured, using various types of drawing pencils, working light to dark. Shade the drawing consistent with a single light source.   Step One: Take a bed sheet or tablecloth and wrap around the chair.   Step Two: Cinch in the cloth to secure it and create drapery folds. Use rope, belts, rusty chains, or anything you have available.   Do not draw too small on the page. Show where the floor ends and the wall begins to avoid a “floating” chair.
