Plans of developments and validation for th Geant4 Workshop September 2011 SLAC, Stanford, CA, USA

Development items for standard New bremsstrahlung model (V.Ivanchenko, A.Schaelicke) ◦ high priority but we have time/man-power limitations New RayleighScattering model (V.Grichine) Multiple scattering of e-, muons and hadrons with WentzelVI for GeV particles - requirement from LHC (LHCb, ATLAS) and other experiments (SLAC) ◦ Configuration of WentzelVI model and Urban model for different energy ranges cannot work out of the box due to smoothing mechanism and interpolation of the transport cross section ◦ Not clear if we capable Migration to new scheme of G4Exception ◦ mainly V.Grichine classes Optimisation of initialisation of muon/hadron bremsstrahlung and e+e- pair production – CPU and memory Clean Coverity reports 4 July 2011 G4AI Status2

Which models to be included into standard builders? If new standard bremsstrahlung will not be ready for the release what will be the strategy? ◦ Do nothing ◦ Use Livermore or Penelope below 100 MeV What model to use for Rayleigh in Option3 ? ◦ If V.Grichine will be ready we may use it ◦ If not we use Livermore (or Penelope?) 4 July 2011 G4AI Status3

Existing validations Run all available tests each monthly tag and even more frequently CPU benchmark results need to be understood LHCb calorimeter response result ◦ Highest priority FanoCalvity and ElectronScattering with RangeFactor=0.01 ? 4 July 2011 G4AI Status4

New validations Luciano and Sebastien got permissions for svn test repository ◦ Test67 results may be saved in CERN repository Cross section and stopping power test using physics builders prepared for the release ◦ Shape and smoothness ◦ Comparison with databases Add automatisation for dose kernel in water ◦ Run all options and publish results 4 July 2011 G4AI Status5

Physics List options G4UrbanMscModel95 – default for e+- ◦ Can we have WentzelVI for high energy above 1 GeV? What should be default of de-excitation option? 4 July 2011 G4AI Status6
