CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Transportation Road Maintenance 60.5% satisfied (compared to 75.1% satisfied in 2004) Snow Removal 64.6% satisfied (compared to 89.4% satisfied in 2004) 2014 Town Survey

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Transportation Potential actions: Repair town bridges Establish bike/pedestrian paths Obtain transit service Repair existing paved highways Widen and build up shoulders Install guardrails where deep ditches have been created (current Town Plan)

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Transportation In connecting land use and transportation efficiency, access management and discouraging new roads in outlying areas were not discussed. Multi-modal transportation was discussed, but could be expanded to include Complete Streets language. Does not consider other modes of transportation when discussing expansion of transportation infrastructure. Complete Streets language could remedy this. (state Enhanced Consultation)

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Education 51.8% are very satisfied or somewhat satisfied with Clarendon schools. Only 14.6% are somewhat dissatisfied or very dissatisfied. (Comparison with 2004 survey difficult) (2014 Town Survey)

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Education “…Solicit input from the business community regarding its needs for graduates, and provide that input to school officials. Encourage communication and interaction within the community to establish education as a vital interest. Work with local school boards to develop the highest possible educational goals, which are consistent with the long-term needs of students and society.” (current Town Plan)

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Education “Encourage provision of sufficient and accessible education opportunities to meet the needs of all regional residents…vocational- technical training, adult education, community colleges, home schooling. Support the efforts of local and regional libraries to provide unrestricted access to their facilities and collections for individual and group learning and enjoyment. Look for alternative funding for public education to alleviate the burden on property owners. Assist schools with acquisition of educational grants from state, federal, and private sources.” (current Town Plan)

CLARENDON TOWN PLAN 2015 Education The current Town Plan discusses adult education. The Plan could do a better job of addressing educational opportunities other than public education; such as Stafford Tech, CCV, public library, and online. (state Enhanced Consultation)
