Design and create a brochure that meets the content rubric criteria. (1 person) Specifications: Use construction paper. Neatly write and illustrate the brochure so that it is visually appealing. Final product should look finished, not like a draft. Design and create an informative poster that meets the content rubric criteria. (1 or 2 people) Specifications: Use construction paper. Neatly write and illustrate the poster so that it is visually appealing. Final product should look finished, not like a draft. Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation that meets the content rubric criteria. (1 or 2 people) Specifications: Must be at least 6 slides. Slides must be visible from the back of the classroom when you are presenting. Write and perform a short skit that meets the content rubric criteria. (1, 2, or 3 people) Specifications: Final draft of script must be neatly written. Performance does not have to be memorized. Members should try to act, not just read from their pages. Pretend that you are Alfred Wegener. Write a letter to a colleague explaining your theory of continental drift. (1 person) Specifications: Letter must be written in formal letter writing style with a greeting and closing. Letter must be at least 1 page in length and neatly written. Write and perform a song explaining the theory of plate tectonics. (1, 2, or 3 people) Specifications: Lyrics must be neatly written and turned in. Song can be performed with or without music. Can be an original tune or a popular song with the words changed. Prepare for an preform a mock debate. One person will be Alfred Wegener & the other will be a Scientist who does not agree with his theory. (2 people) Specifications: Debate preparation materials will be turned in. Debate will include: Formal openings, rebuttals and closings. Create and present an commercial for Plate Tectonic Theory. (1, 2, or 3 people) Specifications: Commercial script will be turned in and must be neatly written. Commercial does not need to be memorized. Create a 2-D or 3-D model of Plate Tectonic Theory. (1 or 2 people) Specifications: Using construction paper or other materials as requested by teacher or brought in by students, create a visual model explaining Plate Tectonic theory. Plate Tectonics Choice Board As your final assessment for our study of Plate Tectonics, you will select one of the projects on this choice board. If you plan to work alone on one of the projects I have designed, you may begin immediately. If you plan to work with a small group or if you wish to design your own project, you must check with me first. I reserve the right to veto groups or projects that I believe will hinder your ability to produce solid work. Since this project is taking the place of a test, the work must be completed in class. You may bring in materials from home.
