CP Athena Monitoring Status as of 20/05/08 Revised directory structure (again!). Phi scale configurable in degrees, radians or channels. Existing plots rationalised – some removed, some combined. Bin labelling and titles clearer and more uniform. New shift summary plots, error overview plots and detailed simulation comparison plots. Tools for step-by-step simulation for both CP and JEP. TWiki page will be available soon.

CP Athena Monitoring Directory Structure: CP_Data_Distributions: CPM, CMM, RoIs: Distributions and Hit Maps CP_Data_Errors: Error Summary Error Overview by CPM/CMM module CPM, CMM, RoIs: Detailed Error Location plots CP_Sim_Check: Data/Simulation Mismatch Summary Data/Simulation Mismatch and Match Overviews CPM, CMM, RoIs: Detailed Match/Mismatch plots

CP Athena Monitoring Comparisons of Data with Simulation The simulation is broken up into steps thus: CPM Towers (Copies of PPr LUT data) CPM RoIs (Needs correct trigger menu) CPM Hit Sums CMM Hit Sums (Copies of CPM Hit Sums) Local (Crate) Hit Sums Remote Sums (Copies of local sums on system crate) Total (System) Hit Sums Each simulation step is run on the data output of the preceding step.

Trigger Towers DAQ CPM Towers CPM RoIs CPM Hits DAQ RoIB DAQ PPM CPM CMM Hits Crate Sums Remote Sums System Sums CMM DAQ CTP DAQ Direct Cross-check Simulation Cross-check Cluster Processor Off-Line Monitoring Cross-checks Needs Trigger Config. DAQ

CP Athena Monitoring Comparisons of Data with Simulation For the comparison at each step there are four detailed plots to help locate the errors: Non-zero matches Non-zero mismatches Data non-zero, simulation zero/missing Simulation non-zero, data zero/missing By comparing the four plots at different steps one may be able to work out whether the errors are in the readouts or in the data transfer/calculation.

CP Athena Monitoring Simulation Tools We now have tools to allow complete step-by-step multi-slice simulation for CP and JEP. Can be used for: Data/Simulation comparisons in monitoring. Multi-slice simulation bytestream production – no longer need multiple algorithm instances. Simulation bytestream production with known errors by manipulating the data between steps.
