Adopting Local Standards of Care Authority: Council adopts the Local Standards of Care for the Parks and Recreation Department youth recreation programs under Texas Human Resources Code Section (b)(14)

Adopting Local Standards of Care The Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is exempt from Child Care Licensure by the State of Texas under Human Resources Code Chapter 42 The exemption is specific to an elementary-age (ages 5-13) recreation program operated by a municipality provided the governing body of municipality annually adopts standards of care by ordinance after a public hearing

Adopting Local Standards of Care Purpose: Set Minimum Standards of compliance for safety of youth participants and Department staff Scope: Fee-based programs or activity offered and supervised by the department that requires a youth participant to enroll Minimum Standards for Program Administration Program Operations Facility Operations Health Standards
