E-Strategy Sudan National Information Society Strategy

ICT Strategy Formulation The Sudanese national ICT strategy was formulated in the following steps: –The ICT document was restructured and vision and mission were defined. –From them objectives were abstracted, then described by their directives. –For each directive perspectives and KPIs were searched from the text and linked to it in the strategy map. –Missing elements (directives, perspectives and KPI) were introduced and Geneva indicators were also introduced and integrated. –The whole strategy was compiled in the adopted format, which is presented in the following objectives:

Build an ICT infrastructure Capacity building and training ُEqual opportunities for all sectors Build trust in ICT usage Develop ICT applications usage Build inclusive information society Develop local content Develop local ICT industry Ensure international and regional cooperation Ensure the right to access to information General Objectives

ICT Strategy Objectives Developing National human capital in knowledge technologies, Achieving E-Readiness and Bridging the Digital Divide Facilitating the individuals to enrich the national content and political involvement of the citizens through virtual organizations and e-voting Building an electronic government and civil society organizations Achieving consistent core legislations that organize the electronic works in both state and society. Developing an ICT industry that satisfies local, regional and international needs Sparking creativity, promoting informatics, knowledge production and electronic business.

Information Society The information society is an evolving concept reached different levels across the world. ICT and knowledge is part of the economic system. The economic activities is based on knowledge and wealth. The indicators today is emphasizing that the philosophy of information society and the knowledge economy is the dominant.
