Kingdom of God Vs. Kingdom of Heaven

kingdom of God kingdom to Israel (Act 1:3-7) To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

I. What is the Kingdom of God? ANSWER: IT IS A SPIRITUAL KINGDOM

II. What is the Kingdom of Heaven? ANSWER: IT IS A LITERAL PHYSICAL KINGDOM

These kingdoms are the theme of the Bible!

IV. Tracing these Kingdoms through the Bible

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God (Eze 28:12-15) Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God ; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

V. Transferring these Kingdoms to a New King

He is the King over the Kingdom of God

HE IS THE SON OF GOD WITH THE IMAGE OF GOD Adam, which was the son of God (Luk 3:38) Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

He is the King over the Kingdom of Heaven

let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

The Sin  Satan would have immediately set his sights on destroying God’s plan through Adam  As a result he approaches the woman and causes them to sin and lose the kingdom

VI. The Splitting of these Kingdoms

Adam dies spiritually and loses the Image of God

in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Gen 2:17) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image (Gen 5:2-3) Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

 As a result he loses the crown to the “Kingdom of God”  When Adam loses the crown to the kingdom, no man can wear it unless he has the Image of God

Christ, who is the image of God (2Co 4:4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Who is the image of the invisible God (Col 1:15) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

express image of his person (Heb 1:3) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; the glory as of the only begotten of the Father (Joh 1:14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(Luk 19:10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

(Luk 20:24) Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's. (Luk 20:25) And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

The promise to restore the kingdom

(Gen 3:15) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

B. Kingdom of Heaven!

 Notice after the fall, god leaves Adam on the earth, he didn’t die physically, and still has dominion over the Earth.  The crown to the Kingdom of Heaven is still in his hands but, not on his head  From this point in the bible, from the fall of man to the birth of Christ, the next 4,000 years (Old Testament) is nothing more than a study of the Kingdom of Heaven

1. Following the Scepter of the Kingdom of Heaven; from Adam to Noah

BIBLEBIBLE  Remember that God’s desire is to have eternal worshipers that are in the image of God  Remember Lucifer and Adam had both reigned over these kingdoms  The one thing that Lucifer couldn’t do that Adam could was to populate it himself  What would be Satan's best way to counter God’s plan, and counterfeit God’s redemptive plan through the promise seed so that he could destroy the plan be? WHY THE FLOOD?

THE ATTITUDE FACTOR Always be prepared to change whatever you have been taught or believed when it goes contrary to the Bible. Never make the Bible line up with what believe or think. Always line up your thoughts with what the Bible clearly teaches

WHO ARE THESE SONS OF GOD? a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth (Gen 5:3) And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: to become the sons of God (Joh 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: called the sons of God now are we the sons of God (1Jn 3:1-2) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God… Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be…

WHO ARE THESE SONS OF GOD? day when the sons of God came to present (Job 1:6) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD (Job 2:1) Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

WHO ARE THESE SONS OF GOD? in heaven (Mat 22:30) For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. I thought angels where sexless?

WHO ARE THESE SONS OF GOD? their first estateown habitation Even as giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh (Jud 1:6-7) And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

WHO ARE THESE SONS OF GOD? ) But as the days of Noe marrying and giving in marriage (Mat 24:37-38) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, in those days (Gen 6:2-4) That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose… There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men,
