Proposed FY17 Upgrades & Fixes  Technology refresh: at 5+ years  Some rooms can benefit from laser projectors  Laser projectors have dropped in price  Lower power consumption  Less heat generation  Longer service life; hope to extend life to 7 years  BUT - Need to confirm long-term performance  Wireless microphones are a challenge (next slide)

The FCC Threw Us a Curve  Wireless frequency used in GA rooms is being auctioned in April. (Coming to a cell phone near you!)  Frequency illegal to use in near future (date TBA)  Shure just stopped building mic transmitters we buy annually for check-out use  Buying more transmitters is pointless expense  Frequency change is needed; cost reduction can result  Goal: replace check-out with in-room docking mics  Eliminate check-out mics, save thousands annually
