Presentation transcript:

 The Nazi Party offered Germans a philosophy- a way of looking at the world. For some it became a substitute for religion.  Never try to convert a crowd to your point of view in the morning sun. Instead, dim lights are useful especially in the evening when people are tired, their powers of resistance are low, and their complete “emotional capitulation” is easy to achieve.

 Nazi rallies resembled religious gatherings. They appealed to people’s emotions. Rallies took place in the evening in keeping Adolf Hiltler’s direction: “Never try to convert a crowd to your point of view in the morning sun. Instead, dim lights are useful especially in the evening when people are tired, their powers of resistance are low, and their complete “emotional capitulation” is easy to achieve. “

 They had established a system of German National Holidays:  Jan 30: Hitler’s anniversary of his appointment as Chancellor  April 20: Hitler’s Birthday  Nov 9: Martyrs of the Movement  March 21: Day of National Revival

 Young German Nazi’s were taught the following simple creed:  I believe in the German mother who gave me birth.  I believe in the German peasant who breaks the sod for his people.  I believe in the German worker who performs work for his people.  I believe in the dead who gave their lives for their people.  For my god is my people.  I believe in Germany!!

 NAZI PROPOGANDA  Adolf Hitler wanted to achieve 3 key objectives by introducing propaganda to the German people: 1. Counter the teachings of their opponents 2. Shape public opinion 3. Build loyalty

 Everyday activities took on a military orientation:  A.) Instead of employment office- “labour mobilization”  B.) instead of worker- “soldier of labour”  C.) instead of work- “service to Fuehrer and folk”  D.) instead of factory meeting- “factory roll call”  E.) instead of production- “the production battle”

 Such labels made it clear who were the heroes and who were the enemies.  Finally, Nazi’s branded themselves as the Guardians of the “TRUE” Germany.
