Dear Mary, My son is 8 years old and my daughter is 10 years old, recently my mother passed away, we are all very sad about this and my daughter will often cry. However, my son does not want to show that he is upset when I can see that he is upset, he will often shrug and say he isn’t and disappear to his room when he is upset is this normal how can I comfort him. Yours sincerely Holly Dear Mary, I have a daughter that is 4 years old. My daughter has just started school and doesn’t seem to need me anymore. When I drop her off at school she doesn’t cry like she used to at nursery, she can now tell me if she is happy or sad so I know she is ok. I am happy that she has settled into school but, I worry that she does not need me anymore. Is this normal? Yours sincerely Amanda

Could going to school be another type of development ?. Why do children go through the terrible twos What PIES development would going to school be categorised as ? True or false: Out of sight out if mind… during childhood children do not need to see things to know they are there Moral development starts at home. Skipping, catching a ball and riding a bike are all intellectual developments Describe what solo play/ solitary play is What motor skill do you use to catch a large ball? What happens if you are catching something smaller and use just your fingers? Could you tie your laces using your whole hand rather than just your fingers?
