The Power of Pentecost Week 3 A demonstration…

1 Corinthians 2:3-5 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

A demonstration of the Spirit’s power

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The power to be His witnesses

Acts 3:1-12 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer— at three in the afternoon.2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter

Acts 3:1-12 and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In

Acts 3:1-12 the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising

Acts 3:1-12 God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.11 While the man held on to Peter and John, all the

Acts 3:1-12 people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. 12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

Acts 8:6-8 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city.

Acts 8:12 But now the people believed Philip’s message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized.

Acts 14:8-10 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. 9He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

Acts 28:7-9 There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days. 8 His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on

Acts 28:7-9 him and healed him. 9 When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured.

Romans 15:18-19 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all

Romans 15:18-19 the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

Signs & wonders by the power of the Holy spirit

John 14:12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Acts 2:39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off— for all whom the Lord our God will call.

We should feel challenged to see the impossible happen! Don’t think it’s not for today! Don’t think it’s not for today! Don’t think that God doesn’t like to do the amazing! Don’t think that God doesn’t like to do the amazing! Don’t think that it can’t happen here, or in me! Don’t think that it can’t happen here, or in me!

We should be challenged to believe the impossible happen! God’s Word is true! God’s Word is true! The Power of the Holy Spirit is real! The Power of the Holy Spirit is real! Realize, God still plans on doing the impossiable! Realize, God still plans on doing the impossiable!

We should be challenged to be a part of the impossible happening! Faith to believe that God can! Faith to believe that God can! Faith to ask God to do it! Faith to ask God to do it! Faith to receive the power of the Holy Spirit working in us! Faith to receive the power of the Holy Spirit working in us!

James 5:16 (NLT) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
