HOW ?  Put Parenting first/top priority  Review how you spend hours and days of week  Be a good example  Develop an ear and an eye of your children  Use the language of character  Punish with a loving heart  Learn to listen to your children  Get deeply involved in your child’s school life  Make a big deal out of the family meal  Do not reduce character education to words alone

Practical Guidance for Parents  Change work hours - exchange that with family  Read Quran with meaning 5 minutes every day  Attend any weekly Islamic program  Respect your teen  Take an interest in what they do  Be aware of problems & address straightforward.  Have weekly family programs/meetings  "Date" your teenager  Don’t just be teen’s parent, be his/her partner  Build a prayer corner in your home

Practical Guidance for Parents  Don’t practice "men’s Islam"  Establish an Islamic library at home  Take them out.....to Islamic activities  Move to a Muslim neighborhood  Help teens start their own youth group  Establish a TV-free evening  Provide the right role models  Read books on Positive Parenting  Get them married early.  Last but not least-Make Dua.
