Statistics  Over half of African Americans between the ages of 24 and 34 have never married.  African Americans have the highest divorce rate of all the major ethnic groups in the US.  More than two-thirds of African American children are born to unmarried parents.  62% of African American households are headed by a single parent.  There is a large disparity between the number of available women and men.
