SIMPLE MACHINES A simple machine is a single device that requires a single force to work. They do not contain a source of energy, so they cannot do more work than they receive from the input force.

PULLEY A pulley is a simple machine that uses grooved wheels and a rope to raise, lower or move a load. PULLEY

LEVER A lever is a stiff bar that rests on a pivot point, called a fulcrum, which lifts or moves loads. Wheelbarrow

WHEEL & AXLE A wheel with a rod, called an axle, through its center lifts or moves loads. BICYCLE WHEEL AXLE WHEELWHEEL WHEEL

INCLINED PLANE A inclined plane is a slanting surface connecting a lower level to a higher level. SLIDE

IN CLOSING: Although each machine works differently their function is similar. In each machine, a force is applied to the device at one point, and it does work moving a load. INCLINE PLANE LEVER WHEEL & AXLE PULLEY
