Jobs of the future

Talking about jobs of the future we thought to focus on wine industry because food has been an important piece of the italian culture for ages. This branch of the italian commerce is really important nowadays because it is improving and increasing thanks to the success of the Sicilian wine all around the world.

Estate “Sallier de la Tour” This is the entrance of the estate. It’s located in Monreale, a little city in Sicily, where many different kinds of wine are produced in about 135 hectares.

They’ve never used chemical products. In fact they care about respecting the environment and the quality of their products. As a possible job of the future, some people could control the pollution in the fields and the use of damaging fertilizers. “Syrah” is a type of wine they sell more. Its smell is similar to pink and black pepper.

 The grapes is collected;  Grains of grapes are separated from stalks;  Grains are minced and the must is collected in silos;  The farmers let the must ferment for some months;  After this time, the must becomes wine;  Wine is bottled to be sold. The temperature is always controlled not to make it go beyond 20 °C, in order to reach a very high quality of wine.

In this business we found two possible jobs for our future :  The ENOLOGIST follows all the phases of wine production: from the grapes harvest to the definition of the working protocol, the evaluation of the quality of the grapes, and he also controls the phases of bottling and the sale of the finished products. His goal is the production of a healthy wine, ethically correct and pleasing from an organoleptic point of view.  Through the development of projects based on the direct observation and studying of the best environmental solutions, the AGRONOMIST works in favour of the agricultural companies, public and private managements of agricultural lands he is also the manager of green areas (parks and gardens) and the transformer of food and agricultural products.

Around the world The company sells the 70% of wines in other countries and only the 30% for the most important Italian restaurants. Lots of people come here to see all the machines concerned with the wine production.

Thank you!!!!!!
