Chemistry App Review By Stan Bagh October 2015

My Goal? Review an App About Chemistry. There were many apps I found on the google play store, but most of them were either to simple or to complicated, but there was one that I liked a lot. The app I chose is Complete Chemistry, made by “One Man Crew”. This app contains a periodic table, a list of compounds that you can easily search up, and a list of vocabulary and descriptions like what alkaline earth metal or an atomic number mean.

1-What Does This App Do? This App lets you look at a periodic tabel which is useful, but the table is lacking some features, for example the state of the element at room temperature giving the app an unfinished feel. Although the other features, like the list of chemical formulas you can easily search up was really helpful, also the polyatomic ions list was nice as well. I do have one problem though, this app does not have anything you cant find with a quick google search, making the app feel like a dictionary or a collection of chemistry vocabulary and a periodic tabel.

2-What Subject In Science Does This App Cover? This app covers mostly atoms and compounds, you can find what you need about these subjects easily. I like how you can search up things like compounds names and it gives you important information the like the formula name.

3/4- Does This App Work Well?/Does It Have any Glitches or Crashes? Yes, this app works well and has a simple easy to use and understand design. Also it does not crash, I even tested it on my old phone and it was still smooth. Very happy with the performance. This app is very well organized, you can find everything like the periodic table or compound list easily

5-Can This App Be Understood Quickly? Yes, this app is incredibly simple, which is nice, though I don’t know if this app would be helpful for a higher grade then 9 since this app only covers the basics.

6- Does This App Actually Teach You Anything? The Compete chemistry app itself will not teach you anything, it will simply help you learn and do homework. What I mean is that it is only a guide with some simple information, that is not a good thing in my opinion. I am not very happy with the app.

My Conclusion To be honest I did not like this app, for 3 reasons. 1-Has to many ads 2-Does not have anything useful that could help you learn something new about chemistry 3- Lacking some important information about atoms Though I did enjoy the fact that it was well organized and was visually appealing. I give this app 6 out of 10 stars because it did not have anything that I could actually use for learning new things.
