Tonight’s Process  Present the New Brighton Exchange Parks planning process and history.  Show existing site maps of North Park.  Request Council approval to enter into a professional services agreement for final design services for City project 16-5, North Park Construction.

History  June 12, Council approved soliciting request for proposals for park planning services.  October 14, Council authorized staff to enter into professional services agreement with Bonestroo.  October NWQ Park Planning Steering Committee created.  November 2007 & January Open Houses held.  January Park concepts presented to PREC.  2010 Council authorized the construction of South Park.

History Continued  January Council directed PREC to study and recommend park features in the NBE.  May 1, 2013 – Public Forum held at PREC  June 5, PREC finalized a recommendation for council: Recommendation: □North Park has a softball diamond and official lacrosse field with both fields being lighted. The softball field would be 300 feet and the lacrosse field would be 360 x 225 feet. □Hansen re-use, would be based upon usage, and improvements would be made to Driftwood to accommodate a regulation size soccer field.
