Bible Reading (Acts 20: 17-20) And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church. And when they had come to him, he said to them, You know how I was with you at all times, from the first day I arrived in Asia, serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and many tears and temptations happening to me through the plots of the Jews; and how I kept back nothing that was profitable, but have shown you and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, وَمِنْ مِيلِيتُسَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَفَسُسَ وَاسْتَدْعَى قُسُوسَ الْكَنِيسَةِ. فَلَمَّا جَاءُوا إِلَيْهِ قَالَ لَهُمْ : « أَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ دَخَلْتُ أَسِيَّا كَيْفَ كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ كُلَّ الزَّمَانِ أَخْدِمُ الرَّبَّ بِكُلِّ تَوَاضُعٍ وَدُمُوعٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَبِتَجَارِبَ أَصَابَتْنِي بِمَكَايِدِ الْيَهُودِ. كَيْفَ لَمْ أُؤَخِّرْ شَيْئاً مِنَ الْفَوَائِدِ إِلاَّ وَأَخْبَرْتُكُمْ وَعَلَّمْتُكُمْ بِهِ جَهْراً وَفِي كُلِّ بَيْتٍ

Bible Reading (Acts 20:21-24) testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. And now, behold, I am going bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me. شَاهِداً لِلْيَهُودِ وَالْيُونَانِيِّينَ بِالتَّوْبَةِ إِلَى اللهِ وَالإِيمَانِ الَّذِي بِرَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. وَالآنَ هَا أَنَا أَذْهَبُ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ مُقَيَّداً بِالرُّوحِ لاَ أَعْلَمُ مَاذَا يُصَادِفُنِي هُنَاكَ. غَيْرَ أَنَّ الرُّوحَ الْقُدُسَ يَشْهَدُ فِي كُلِّ مَدِينَةٍ قَائِلاً : إِنَّ وُثُقاً وَشَدَائِدَ تَنْتَظِرُنِي.

Key Verse: Acts 20:24 وَلَكِنَّنِي لَسْتُ أَحْتَسِبُ لِشَيْءٍ وَلاَ نَفْسِي ثَمِينَةٌ عِنْدِي حَتَّى أُتَمِّمَ بِفَرَحٍ سَعْيِي وَالْخِدْمَةَ الَّتِي أَخَذْتُهَا مِنَ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ لأَشْهَدَ بِبِشَارَةِ نِعْمَةِ اللهِ. But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus Christ, to testify fully the gospel of the grace of God.

Act 20:28 Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood. وَالآنَ هَا أَنَا أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكُمْ لاَ تَرَوْنَ وَجْهِي أَيْضاً أَنْتُمْ جَمِيعاً الَّذِينَ مَرَرْتُ بَيْنَكُمْ كَارِزاً بِمَلَكُوتِ اللهِ. لِذَلِكَ أُشْهِدُكُمُ الْيَوْمَ هَذَا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ دَمِ الْجَمِيعِ لأَنِّي لَمْ أُؤَخِّرْ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِكُلِّ مَشُورَةِ اللهِ. اِحْتَرِزُوا اذاً لأَنْفُسِكُمْ وَلِجَمِيعِ الرَّعِيَّةِ الَّتِي أَقَامَكُمُ الرُّوحُ الْقُدُسُ فِيهَا أَسَاقِفَةً لِتَرْعُوا كَنِيسَةَ اللهِ الَّتِي اقْتَنَاهَا بِدَمِهِ.

Four Lessons we Learn from the Apostle Paul: 1. A sense of destiny 2.A sense of dedication 3.A sense of declaration 4.A sense of duty

1. A sense of destiny Where are you heading to? (Alice in Wonders Land!) Paul lived for a higher purpose, so he could say of this world and it’s problems: “none of these things move me!” Are you in survival mode? God wants us to live, not just exist! Where are you in God’s plan for service? Matt 28: 17 “ Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” فَاذْهَبُوا وَتَلْمِذُوا جَمِيعَ الأُمَمِ وَعَمِّدُوهُمْ بِاسْمِ الآبِ وَالاِبْنِ وَالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ.

2. A sense of dedication The goal is not getting more from God, but giving Him more. It’s not, do I have all of God, but does God have all of me?! Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” فَأَطْلُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ بِرَأْفَةِ اللهِ أَنْ تُقَدِّمُوا أَجْسَادَكُمْ ذَبِيحَةً حَيَّةً مُقَدَّسَةً مَرْضِيَّةً عِنْدَ اللهِ عِبَادَتَكُمُ الْعَقْلِيَّةَ. In the OT the priest had to place the sacrifice on the altar…it was killed…but we today in the NT days are to be a living sacrifice. Paul said, that’s “reasonable!” Gk. Logicos = logical = the least we can do! Christ died for us…can’t we live for Him?!

2. A sense of dedication Ephes. 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” مُبَارَكٌ اللهُ أَبُو رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، الَّذِي بَارَكَنَا بِكُلِّ بَرَكَةٍ رُوحِيَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوِيَّاتِ فِي الْمَسِيحِ، So the question is, does God have all of you, laid down as a dedicated sacrifice?

3. A sense of declaration 2 Cor. 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us…” إِذاً نَسْعَى كَسُفَرَاءَ عَنِ الْمَسِيحِ، كَأَنَّ اللهَ يَعِظُ بِنَا. نَطْلُبُ عَنِ الْمَسِيحِ : تَصَالَحُوا مَعَ اللهِ.

4. A sense of duty Eze 3:17 Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the Word of My mouth, and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked one shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand. Eze 3:19 Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. [ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ, قَدْ جَعَلْتُكَ رَقِيباً لِبَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. فَاسْمَعِ الْكَلِمَةَ مِنْ فَمِي وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ مِنْ قِبَلِي. إِذَا قُلْتُ لِلشِّرِّيرِ : مَوْتاً تَمُوتُ وَمَا أَنْذَرْتَهُ أَنْتَ وَلاَ تَكَلَّمْتَ إِنْذَاراً لِلشِّرِّيرِ مِنْ طَرِيقِهِ الرَّدِيئَةِ لإِحْيَائِهِ, فَذَلِكَ الشِّرِّيرُ يَمُوتُ بِإِثْمِهِ, أَمَّا دَمُهُ فَمِنْ يَدِكَ أَطْلُبُهُ. وَإِنْ أَنْذَرْتَ أَنْتَ الشِّرِّيرَ وَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ عَنْ شَرِّهِ وَلاَ عَنْ طَرِيقِهِ الرَّدِيئَةِ, فَإِنَّهُ يَمُوتُ بِإِثْمِهِ. أَمَّا أَنْتَ فَقَدْ نَجَّيْتَ نَفْسَكَ.

The Conclusion 1Co 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, no glory is to me. For necessity is laid on me; yea, woe is to me if I do not preach the gospel! لأَنَّهُ إِنْ كُنْتُ أُبَشِّرُ فَلَيْسَ لِي فَخْرٌ إِذِ الضَّرُورَةُ مَوْضُوعَةٌ عَلَيَّ فَوَيْلٌ لِي إِنْ كُنْتُ لاَ أُبَشِّرُ. 2Co 11:28 besides the things outside conspiring against me daily, the care of all the churches. عَدَا مَا هُوَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ : التَّرَاكُمُ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ. الاِهْتِمَامُ بِجَمِيعِ الْكَنَائِسِ. 2Co 11:29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I do not burn? مَنْ يَضْعُفُ وَأَنَا لاَ أَضْعُفُ؟ مَنْ يَعْثُرُ وَأَنَا لاَ أَلْتَهِبُ؟ 2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. 2Ti 4:8 Now there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that Day; and not to me only, but also to all those who love His appearing. قَدْ جَاهَدْتُ الْجِهَادَ الْحَسَنَ، أَكْمَلْتُ السَّعْيَ، حَفِظْتُ الإِيمَانَ، وَأَخِيراً قَدْ وُضِعَ لِي إِكْلِيلُ الْبِرِّ، الَّذِي يَهَبُهُ لِي فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ الرَّبُّ الدَّيَّانُ الْعَادِلُ، وَلَيْسَ لِي فَقَطْ، بَلْ لِجَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ ظُهُورَهُ أَيْضاً.
