KEY FINANCIAL SUCCESSES Long term sources of income (ie membership income) reached 77%. Level of free reserves cover 13 months’ anticipated operating costs.
FINANCIAL OVERVIEW For every £1 income we received in the year ended 31/03/2012: 39p was spent on supporting high quality services to members 42p was spent on influencing policy and information in support of end users 16p covered the cost of generating funds; 3p was used to cover governance costs.

FINANCIAL STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES Ensure the RCSLT has financial models which support strategic goals Ensure that reserves are invested prudently (low to medium risk) Ensure that 70% of income is generated from long-term sources Achieve ratio of fixed costs to long term income of no greater than 1:1 Generate annual surplus of between 2%- 4% of turnover (before any major capital investment) Maintain reserves which represent 12 months of anticipated operating costs; 3 months held in cash and the remainder in other investments Maintain minimum cash days in hand of 30 days (or 1.5 times the monthly average outgoings)
