7 “Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life… To KNOW = to see (literally or figuratively); to know (in an intimate way); have close knowledge of, look at or on, be sure of, know to tell others, to clearly understand.

7 “Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer When you are born naturally, you will have certain characteristics. You might even call these natural birthmarks. But when you are “born-again spiritually” you will definitely have supernatural characteristics which are spiritual “birthmarks”.

7 “Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer What are the birthmarks of your being born- again? Living a good life? Living a moral life? Doing good deeds? Going to church? All of these are good, but: Some people who do these things may or may not be born again… Being born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit … brings courage and conviction to “live out loud” your Christian faith.

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 1 - Your Heart and Life Changed – 2 Cor. 5:17 “ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Your spirit part of you changed – radically. Romans 5:5

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 2 - The Holy Spirit came and indwelt you, and HE is working in you, and you will know it! John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. His Indwelling Presence – Communicates the Love of the Father to you in a real way. Helps steer clear of sin and confess it quickly when it happens. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit want to come alive and out of you.

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 3- The Bible = the Word of God becomes alive and important to you. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 The Bible is alive!

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 4 - You became Sons and Daughters to Almighty God. You will know it and have His authority to use it. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:2 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Rom 8:14

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 5 – Joy and Power came and continues to come supernaturally into your life. "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. John 15:11 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 Acts 1:5,8 I Cor. 12:8-10

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer 6. Birthmark 6 – Supernatural Light came into your being and wants to come out. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matt. 5:14,16 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2Cor. 4:6

“Birthmarks” of a Born-Again Believer Birthmark 7 – The Seal of the Holy Spirit which is the mark of God. In Him (Jesus) you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13 …who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 Cor. 1:22

How to Be Born-Again Believer and to Be ready to Share in Communion? Believe each person starts out as a sinner and needs a Savior. Rom. 3:23 Believe God loves you and sent His only Son as the Savior. John 3:16 Believe that by your praying and repenting and asking His forgiveness, that you receive forgiveness and salvation and are saved. Rom. 10:9,10 Be Baptized as Jesus commanded. (This is coming up Sept. 6, 2015.) Believe that God turns no one away. John 6:37
