© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 5 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 5 Use Case #1 – Individual Customer Data Existing processes allow for customers to share their billing data with 3rd party DER providers Opportunity for process improvements (speed and efficiency) and uniform practices across utilities

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 6 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 6 Use Case #2 – Batch Customer Data Data must be anonymized to ensure customer privacy Data should reside in a centralized data platform for ease administration 3 rd Parties could analyze data and match solutions to ideal customers Recommendations could be used by Utilities to direct customers to energy savings opportunities Energy Upgrade Model Utility Account Representatives Bill Inserts Data Hub

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 7 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 7 Use Case #3 – Utility Procurement Opportunity 3 rd Party DER providers need access to anonymized aggregate customer data (market sizing, load profile, etc) in order to properly respond to DER procurement opportunities Utilities should have standardized practices for sharing aggregate customer data with potential bidders at RFO release

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 8 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 8 Use Case #4 – Utility Contract with 3 rd Party Under a contractual agreement, Utilities could provide non- anonymized individual customer data (on an opt-in basis per customer) to 3 rd Party DER provider to identify ideal customers for DER solutions If data must by anonymized, then process could be similar to Use Case #2, except data would go direct to DER provider for customers in program area

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 9 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 9 Use Case #5 – Access to Distribution Grid Data It is not about the access to the raw, grid level data. 3rd Party DER providers would benefit from locational, monetizable value DERIM Maps should be updated to reflect LMP, streamlined Rule 21 interconnection for storage, and the ICA/LNBA values Tell us the best place to put DERs!

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 10 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 10 DER Data Access Use Cases

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 11 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 11 Use Case #1 – Individual DER Data (No Contract) Utilities have access to customer meter data, not individual DER performance data Customer load management practices, with or without a DER, will show on the retail meter No need to have access to individual DER data Providing individual DER data would breach privacy agreement between customer and DER provider

© 2015 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 12 © 2016 Stem, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 12 Use Case #2 – Individual/Fleet DER Data (Contract) Individual DER or Fleet performance data sharing would be based on the specific requirements of the procurement
