Pablo Picasso By: Ms. Edwards Period: 2A

Cubism is an early-20th-century art movement that revolutionized European painting and sculpture. Cubism has been considered the most influential art movement of the 20th century. In Cubist artwork, objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form— instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Cubism

An aspect of his works that differentiated Pablo Picasso from other artists of his time was the fact that his works depicted his personal feeling, as well as the outside world. He wasn't afraid to push boundaries of the human mind. In 1937, following the Nazi Germany's bombing in Guernica, the artist created his most famous work Guernica.

Portrait of Ambroise Vollard, Your Image influenced primarily by the 3 works shown by Picasso The Old Guitarist Important: Explain how you utilized the techniques and style seen in the artwork shown by your artist. Example: I wanted to do a portrait using a combination techniques & colors used in The Old Guitarist and Portrait of Ambroise Vollard.

Cannot be a copy of your artist's’ or anyone else’s work. Must clearly display evidence of the style, techniques, color schemes, and/or subject matter of your artist. This project is a great opportunity for you to explore a type of art you have always wanted to learn more about. Take notes on each of your classmates presentations. Your final exam will include the artists, art movements, and artwork included in their presentations.
