ŽEMAITIJA Is one of the five ethnographic regions of Lithuania. Žemaitija is located in northwestern Lithuania. Žemaitija has long and distinct cultural history, reflected in the existence of the Samogitian dialect.

MOUNT ŠATRIJA Supposedly sacral pagan place and former village site. Šatrija is braided with legends, one of which tells that once there was no hill, but a church stood there.

THE HILL OF CROSSES The atmosphere in the Hill of Crosses may be surreal. Thousands of large wooden crosses are used as platforms for many times that number of small ones, all of which beautifully chime in the wind.

AMBER MUSEUM Amber Museum. The Palanga Amber Museum’s exposition takes up 15 rooms. About 4,500 exhibit pieces are found here. The museum has a wealth of amber pieces with trapped insects or plants. The Museum is becoming famous for its traditional cultural events.
