Adaptations

What are adaptations? Definition – Any alteration in the structure or function of an organism or any of its parts by which the organism becomes better fitted to survive and mul tiply in its environment.

What are some examples of adaptations? adaptationreason small earsreduces heat losses strong legs for swimming and running helps them catch their prey thick layer of blubber - fat insulation and a store of energy thick layer of white fur insulation against the cold, and for camouflage

Biome Animal Project

Biome Animal You will be assigned two biomes to focus on during this project. Your goal is to take an animal that is perfectly adapted to one biome and transform it so that it is perfectly adapted to another biome. The biomes will be assigned, but the animal that you adapt will be your choice.

Biome Animal Project Pre-AP There are two parts to this project: – Model (10pts) You must create a 3D model of the new animal. Can be no more than 1 ft long x 1 ft wide x 1 ft tall. New adaptations must be included. – Essay (15 pts) The essay must be three paragraphs long (8 sentences in each paragraph). Which include the following: – Paragraph one: What is a biome? – Paragraph two: Describe the original biome for your animal. How did your animal adapt to that environment? – Paragraph three: Describe your animal’s new biome. How did you adapt your animal to its new biome?

Biome Animal Project 6 th Grade Science There are 2 parts to this assignment: – Picture (10 points): Draw a picture with the animal in the new biome with its new adaptations. (minimum of 3 new adaptations) – Short Response Questions (15 points): Answer the questions provided on your sheet.
