2 SBA- Small Business Administration  A Small Federal Agency with a Huge Mandate  Advocate and Champion for the 28 Million small businesses of the Country  The mission of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is to support small businesses from start-up to the realization of their ultimate goals. 2www.sba.gov

8 Accessing Capital  The SBA does not make direct loans to business owners (except to assist with recovering from a natural disaster).  What the SBA does is to guarantee loans made by qualified lenders to qualified business owners.  The Dallas/Fort Worth District which encompasses 72 counties approved 1982 loans to business owners totaling $1,046,054,800 in guaranteed loans in the past 12 months as of September 30, 2015.
