The amount of people that turn up to the soccer games is in the thousands and that means that if they haven’t already eaten they may want to buy something. This would mean that a lot of rubbish and scraps are being picked up and I don’t imagine it is picked up without some of it escaping and being blown away into the streets to go Into our oceans. The rubbish that is picked up goes into the bins, gets picked up by the garbage men or women, then transported to the garbage dumps and then the bulldozes run the rubbish into the ground creating a massive dumping area. The land will therefor take awhile to grow back into a lushes landscape. A Few Facts

Australians generate almost 48 million tonnes of waste. Of that, only 52% is recycled which means that the remaining 48% goes into landfill. By improving our knowledge of what can be recycled, how valuable resources are recovered and returned back into the circular economy and making changing to our purchasing decisions, we can all contribute to a more positive environmental future.

THE JAPANESE’S FIRST WORLD CUP Japan's first World Cup soccer game they attended was held on June in Toulouse France. The Japanese fans picked up all the trash around them whether it was theirs or not. It is Japanese courtesy to think of the environment. Something Western societies have difficulty in comprehending. The Japanese people reportedly don't eat or drink while they are walking. Unlike many people from other Western nations who often snack or drink energy drinks while walking. So while Japanese people stay healthy, other western nations face problems from indigestion, weight gains and more litter from empty drink bottles and food wrappers.

HOW MUCH DOES FIFA SPEND FIFA spend around 70 billion U.S dollars every year building new and bigger stadiums that cater for more and more people that all want to obtain food and drink. I noticed when attending a soccer game at the Gosford stadium that the officials frowned upon people bringing their own food and drink to the game. It was ok to bring water but no soft drinks could be taken. The odd thing was that the stadium had people selling soft drinks like Coca Cola and Fanta at higher prices then you pay at the super markets. If things do not change I could see a time in the near future when even water would not be allowed. I don’t understand why they do this because if people pay a huge price to see the games, then charging people higher prices for food and drink would surely only lead to people staying away from the game. Perhaps instead of trying to obtain more and more money from the fans who just want to see the game, FIFA could spend some money by inventing new ways to reuse the rubbish produced. Maybe like in Back to the Future, a way to generate electricity could be invented using the waste products that would reduce the costs of the huge lighting found at the stadium.

A WAY Some of the rappers from the food is picked up but not all of it is. If this idea was to include the other 48% of rubbish going to landfill then maybe instead of burning coal a way would be found to use this waste to produce the electricity needed to power our entire society. Now I’m not just saying that soccer is the only sport to produce waste when games are held at the stadiums, as all other sports like Rugby and Cricket seem to do the same. Personally I really like soccer but all sports do try to be the best and coolest to their fans. If they stopped trying to be the best and the coolest and put more thought into fixing our problems with waste then the improvements to our forests and the oceans would be better. If plastics are made from oil products and paper products come from trees, the ability to turn such waste into energy is something I think is possible. I do not know why someone has not done this yet but I think I will in the future.
