Bed Bugs and IPM CAN MAKE STRANGE BEDFELLOWS
WHY SANITATION IS IMPORTANT FOR HEAT TREATMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL
INTEGRATING HEAT TREATMENTS INTO AN IPM PROGRAM
Presentation transcript:

Thermination heat treatment method can eliminate bed bug infestations without the use of chemicals using specially designed electric heaters to elevate room temperatures above 122 °F. This is the point at which all bed bugs and their eggs die. Bed bugs typically hide when not feeding in nearby cracks, crevices, and bedding. Like mosquitoes, bed bugs are attracted to heat. So, in contrast to chemical treatments, which tend to drive the insects away from the irritating chemicals and further into hiding or even an adjacent room, the heat treatment method draws them out to be killed.

FACILITY MANAGEMENT Thermination’s single room treatment package offers an ideal solution for hotel, residence hall, and dormitory managers. The best way avoid the spread of bed bugs is to initiate treatment as soon as the problem is discovered. Our compact, portable, treatment package can be easily stored and ready for use at any time. Maintenance personnel can be easily trained in setup and operation. Most rooms can be treated and ready to occupy in less than 6 hours. All that’s needed is a 240 volt power outlet. Plugged-in room air-conditioning units are typically plugged into an in-room 240 volt outlet. The TH-1024 heater can operate from one 30 ampere or greater outlet. If the available outlet is a 20 ampere outlet the TH-2024 heater will require two outlets, one from an adjacent room. A portable generator, located outside of the building, can provide an alternative power source.

Temperature Data Logger Lascar data logger is the perfect tool to place in room for monitoring and recording temperuatures during treatment cycle. Verify that proper treatment temperatures have been achieved. Comes with simple to use software that loads onto your computer to enable unit and display time-temperature graph. Also allows you to save or print a permanent record of temperatures from start to finish. Unit has USB port to simplify interconnection with computer. Can also be used to display current ambient temperature by pressing button on unit.
